A cheeky bit of Internationalisation!
Last Tuesday, I had the pleasure of giving a 2 hour lecture/discussion (completely in Japanese) to some lovely old ladies about Australia and the differences between Australia and Japan. It was a lovley change to my hectic schedule of late (*cough SARCASM cough*) and i got to spend time chatting about my country to people who live in a tiny village about 20 minutes away from where i live and who never really get a chance to get out and about very much. They listened to everything i had to say and now know so much more about Oz than they originally had and realise that it's not too much different than Japan in certain aspects. For example, whenever you ask Japanese people here where i live about what they know about Australia, their immediate response is always "Kangaroos and Koala's". Whilst it does get frustrating at times, i think i did quite a good job in internationalising/Australianising this small group of obaachans (old ladies).
