Kochi University of Technology's Open Day/Festival

Last weekend, it only started out being only Mika and I who were going to this and the next thing i know we bumped into some familiar faces. At first we met up with Erinn and her boyfriend, Tsuyoshi and then we ran into Paul, Jason (with woman), Yuri and Nathan. Pretty much during the day at the festival they had various stalls of different styles of cooking, live bands and plenty of entertainment to keep everyone there.

This was the main stage. I always drive pass this uni but was shocked to see how big it was and how many people my own age actually lived around where i live. hehe

This is a arm-wrestling tournament where they had one person from each food stall come to represent their stall in an all-out weak-arse arm wrestling comp. some japanese people are so weak its ridiculous.

Being that i live in the inaka (countryside), another main attraction was the Kakashi Contest, or the Scarecrow Contest. Yes, im not joking, heaps of people from all over Kami City went mad making these stupid scarecrows. This one i liked in particular. It is of an old drunk guy who has a red face from drinking too much sake, he is holding a sake bottle in one hand and a steering wheel in the other and the theme for the piece is "i dont think i should be driving!"

Once it got dark they even had a BMX demonstration

And a really famous DJ in japan called DJ KAORI to come to play in my hick ass part of the woods.

other than being fit as, she was actually not too bad a DJ. but then again, i forget when the last time i actually went proper clubbing was.

they even had a street dance battle.

all in all, it was a pretty good festival to check out and a good way not to spend a shiteload of money on a saturday night.
