C'arn the Aussies!!!!!!!! You bloody little rippers!!!

I dont think ive had a better start to the day since i arrived in japan to work. I walked to school proudly with all my aussie gear, rubbing it into nearly every japanese person i encountered! as another australian i know said, it was a quiet, solemn affair once i walked into the office screaming, "AUSTRALIA 3-1, ZANNEN!!!!!" is it so wrong to want to see them cry???? hehe. A few aussies and I couldnt resist the chance last night after the game to go to a local conbini all geared up in aussie flags and sing the national anthem to everyone in case they hadnt heard the results. of course beer was involved for it was a game that u really needed to be drinking for.

Today, and for probably the next week, the australian flag is being stuck to each classrooms blackboard for the whole lesson and i love having the power to make the kids suffer and keeping them from taking it down! Everywhere ive gone today, ive made sure i am carrying my aussie flag with me and raising it high in the air for all to see. Im sure we have no chance in beating brazil but im glad we beat someone! I am damn proud of the boys last night and for being an aussie, especially in japan!!

GO AUSTRALIA!!!!!!

Wannabe thief asks bank for robbery advice

I found this article on the news.com.au website and thought it was quite a laugh! And quite typical of some Japanese people:

June 02, 2006
A WOULD-be Japanese bank robber asked staff how he should carry out the crime before meekly obeying a request to leave and then accidentally stabbing himself in the leg with a knife he was carrying.

The 58-year-old unemployed man went into a branch of the Saitama Resona Bank in the town of Kumagaya, north of Tokyo, yesterday, intending to rob it, a police spokesman said.

According to local media reports the man first asked a bank teller, "Any idea how you rob a bank?" The teller alerted another member of staff, who asked the man to leave.

"He left quietly when asked to," the police spokesman said.

However, the staff member escorting the man out of the bank noticed the knife sticking out of his pocket and a bloodstain on his trousers.

New work schedule

Here's a brief outline of what i have to do on a day to day basis since my village merged with two other towns into Kami City.

Monday: Go to teach at Yamada Primary school. Its a gay school and i dont like going there that much yet. Its the biggest school ive ever taught at. There are 500 kids here, over ten times the amount of kids in my Junior High School. Its in Tosayamada Town which is a half hour drive away by car, and i have to go there by the town offices car. I usually have four classes and my patience levels are put to the test by the end of the day.......SIT STILL DAMMIT!

Tuesday: Do 3 classes at Odochi Junior High, without any warning on what we're teaching till lunch and then go to teach english 5th period at Odochi Primary.

Wednesday: Do another 3 classes at Odochi Junior High, without any warning on what we're teaching till lunch and then go to teach english 5th period at Odochi Primary. Then prepare for my adult english conversation class which goes from 7-9pm.

Thursday: Do 4 classes in a row at Odochi Junior High until lunch and then have time to go home for either a cheeky 2 hour or so lunch break or prepare for primary school classes..... i usually dont do too much of the latter.

Friday: Drive in the town office's car again to tosayamada and teach at Kuzume Primary school (160 kids). Usually have to do 3 or four classes there. I actually like this school compared to yamada primary coz the students are cool and the teachers want me there.

So there you go. Thats what i do now!
